Celebrating 19 Years of IT Desk: A Year of Innovation, Growth, and Going Viral!

IT Desk turns 19 this month—and what a journey it's been! From a small startup to a trusted name in managed IT services across the UK, every year has brought something new. But the past 12 months? They've been a whirlwind of innovation, achievements, and unforgettable moments.
So, as we mark nearly two decades of tech excellence, we’re taking a moment to reflect on some of the standout milestones from the past year. Spoiler: there’s been a lot to celebrate!
May: Launching Our Microsoft Copilot Journey
We kicked off a transformative year with one of the most exciting developments in productivity and AI—Microsoft Copilot. On May 8th, we announced the beginning of this journey, highlighting how we’re helping our clients harness the power of AI to streamline their work and make smarter decisions faster.
A week later, we launched our “Meet the Team” series across social media, giving followers a closer look at the talented people that make IT Desk tick. From tech engineers to leadership, it was all about spotlighting the human side of tech.
June: Representing the UK at Microsoft’s Copenhagen Roundtable
In June, our directors flew to Denmark for a prestigious Microsoft roundtable in Copenhagen, part of the Business Central UK Partner Connection. It was a huge opportunity to represent the UK, learn from global leaders, and bring fresh insights home to our clients.
July: Recognised, Rewarded, and Recharged
July was one for the books:
We were proudly awarded Investors in People accreditation, recognising our dedication to workplace culture, development, and team wellbeing.
Two major work anniversaries: Steve hit 10 years, and Ryan marked an impressive 15.
Plus, we had a blast bonding at Golf Fang Sheffield—because sometimes, a good round of mini-golf is just what the IT doctor ordered!
August: Celebrating Creativity on World Photography Day
We brought out our artistic side in August with an internal photography competition, encouraging team members to showcase their visual creativity in honour of World Photography Day. The entries? Absolutely frame-worthy.
September: A Strong Presence in the Local Business Scene
We showed up strong at Chamber Means Business, held at Rotherham Football Ground, connecting with peers and business leaders in the Barnsley & Rotherham area.
Later that month, we were thrilled to announce that IT Desk had been shortlisted for two awards at the Barnsley & Rotherham Business Awards 2024—a huge honour and testament to the progress we’ve made.
October: Innovation, Inspiration, and Insights in Berlin
October took us to Pax8 Beyond in Berlin, and it was nothing short of transformative. Over three inspiring days, we connected with global industry leaders, explored emerging trends, and deepened our understanding of where the MSP and cloud services space is heading.
From thought-provoking keynotes to powerful breakout sessions, Pax8 gave us a front-row seat to the future of tech—and plenty of ideas to bring back to our clients. We also soaked in the sights, sounds, and spirit of Berlin, returning home more connected, motivated, and focused than ever.

November & December: Wrapping the Year with Team Spirit
As the year wound down, our energy didn’t. November brought exciting teasers of our brand-new podcast room, and December saw Callan officially complete his apprenticeship—a proud achievement for him and a huge win for our apprenticeship program.
Of course, the holidays wouldn’t be complete without some festive cheer. Our Taskmaster-inspired team challenge video gave everyone a good laugh, and Chris brought the vibes on Christmas Eve with his DJ decks.
January–March: Lights, Camera, Viral!
In 2025, we started showing our personality online like never before:
We posted our first TikTok on National Hug Day, quickly followed by our first full podcast episode featuring Chris and Morgan.
In February and March, we saw not one but three TikToks go viral—with Dec, Vicki, and Adam becoming unofficial IT Desk internet celebrities. One clip even smashed 193,000+ views!
Our eighth podcast, featuring Glen Banks from Kinspeed, dropped in March, continuing our commitment to sharing knowledge, stories, and industry insights.
We also attended the Hydrogen BI meet-up in Matlock—staying at the cutting edge of business intelligence and data-driven strategy.
19 Years Young—And The Best Is Yet to Come
Looking back, it’s been a year of bold moves, big wins, and building deeper connections—with our team, our community, and our clients.
We’ve leaned into AI, championed our people, embraced new platforms, and taken our message global. From Berlin to Barnsley, from podcasts to partnerships, it’s been a journey packed with purpose and possibility.
So, as we celebrate our 19th birthday, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s supported us along the way. We wouldn’t be here without our incredible team, clients, and community.
